Pi dayEdward Peake Mathematics Department are going to join the world and celebrate Pi Day on March 14th. Pi Day is an annual celebration which commemorates the mathematical constant Pi. It is observed on March 14th, since 3, 1 and 4 are the three most significant digits of Pi in the decimal form. Pi has been calculated to over one trillion digits and the pupils of our school will investigate or be introduced to Pi, use it to complete a variety of different activities and challenge themselves to try and remember as many digits as they can! Some pupils will even learn the history of the Greek letter Pi. It should be an exciting day and we hope the pupils will enjoy their mathematics lessons on that day.
