We are delighted to welcome you to Edward Peake C of E (VC) Middle School as we embark on this important phase in your child’s education.

At Edward Peake, many plans and preparations are already taking place for the transfer of your child. We are working alongside your child’s lower school to ensure we can support them through the process of moving up to Middle School. 

On this page you will find information which will help to start the transition process. There is a transition information booklet below which contains information about the school day, uniform and other key details about school.

Forms to be completed

It is important we have all the information we need to support your child through their transition. Please can you complete the following Google Forms by Monday 20 June (If you have not yet completed the forms, please do so as soon as possible they will remain open until Thursday 7 July):

Transition day

Your child will be visiting Edward Peake C of E (VC) Middle School on Friday 8 July 2022 for their Transition Day. On this day they will meet and get to know their new class and teacher for September. Your child will meet their buddy and receive a tour of the school before completing a number of fun and exciting activities. Your child should wear their own school uniform on the day. They will not need to bring any equipment but they will need to bring a named water bottle. 

Arrival

Your child should arrive between 8:30am – 8:40pm and wait with the other pupils on the playground before being collected by the Year 5 staff and taken into school. There will be staff on the school gate to greet and direct the pupils on to the playground. 

Lunch

Your child may have a school lunch at a cost of £2.50 or bring their own packed lunch. School lunches can be paid using cash or cheques. Cheques need to be payable to ‘EPMS’. Please place cash and cheques in an envelope with your Child’s full name and current lower school. Your child can also purchase a drink with prices ranging from 45p to 75p. Please can you confirm if your child will be having a school dinner or packed lunch on the ‘Transition Day Consent Form’ Google Form which can be found on the school website. Snacks

Your child is welcome to bring in their own morning snack or can also purchase a snack from the snack trolley during morning break, prices range from 25p – 50p.  A selection of drinks are also available, prices range from 40p – 75p. 

End of day

Pupils will finish school at 3.20pm and can be collected from the school gate or walk home on their own. Please indicate on the Google form how your child will be travelling home. Pupils  from Sutton, Wrestlingworth, Caldecote, Northill and Dunton will be able to use the school bus on this day to travel to and from Edward Peake. The bus companies are aware of the additional pupils using the buses.

Multi Sports Summer Club

With the summer holidays fast approaching Edward Peake is looking to host a Multi Sports Summer Club during the first three weeks of the summer holidays.

This will be available to any of our current Year 5, 6 and 7 cohorts, as well as lower school pupils in Year 4 who will be making the transition to Edward Peake this September.

If your child is currently in your 4 and would like to attend all week this is possible however they will be integrated with the other year groups, with the exception of Friday where the year 4’s will be participating as a year group.

The cost for the day is £20.00 per child, if your child is eligible for Pupil premium the cost would be £10 per child.  Payments for Year 5, 6 and 7 pupils to be made via the School Gateway.

Payments for Year 4 pupils who are transitioning to Edward Peake will need to be paid by cheque, made payable to EPMS.

Registering and payment.

You will need to register and pay a 50% deposit of your total session by Friday 1 July to secure your place. Non-payment by this date may mean your place is cancelled.

Please note that if insufficient contributions are received the clubs may be cancelled, if we have to cancel any monies paid will be refunded.

Ordering Uniform
Our school uniform is now only available to order online direct from our
supplier Price and Buckland. To order uniform please use the following link

internet access please ring Price and Buckland on 01159 640827.

Pupil Premium
If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium funding, we are able to
support the costs of uniform by providing a one use 50% voucher
code for Price and Buckland. To secure the discount, please contact the
school office. You will be issued with a discount code which can be used
when you order the uniform online through Price and Buckland.

School Tours – Bookings Closed

Due to the pandemic, we were unable to invite you and your child to our annual Open Evening during the Autumn Term. Now restrictions have been lifted, we are delighted to have the opportunity to invite you and your child to the school and provide a tour of the school and an opportunity to meet Miss Mall (Year Leader of Year 5). Tours will be taking place in groups of up to 15 families after school on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 June.
