We are delighted to welcome you to Edward Peake C of E (VC) Middle School as we embark on this important phase in your child’s education.
At Edward Peake, many plans and preparations are already taking place for the transfer of your child. We are working alongside your child’s lower school to ensure we can support them through the process of moving up to Middle School.
On this page you will find information which will help to start the transition process. There is a transition information booklet below which contains information about the school day, uniform and other key details about school.

Transition day
Miss Mall will be working alongside our SENDCo Ms Anderson and the safeguarding team to support all pupils through transition. The Year 5 teachers will also be visiting your child in their lower schools to assist further with their transition.
Your child will be visiting Edward Peake C of E (VC) Middle School on Thursday 6 July 2023 for their Transition Day. On this day they will meet and get to know their new class and teacher for September. Your child will meet their buddy and receive a tour of the school before completing a number of fun and exciting activities. Your child should wear their own school uniform on the day. They will not need to bring any equipment but they will need to bring a named water bottle.
Arrival
Your child should arrive between 8:30am – 8:40pm and wait with the other pupils on the playground before being collected by the Year 5 staff and taken into school. There will be staff on the school gate to greet and direct the pupils on to the playground.
Lunch
Your child may have a school lunch at a cost of £2.50 or bring their own packed lunch. School lunches can be paid using cash or cheques. Cheques need to be payable to ‘EPMS’. Please place cash and cheques in an envelope with your Child’s full name and current lower school. Your child can also purchase a drink with prices ranging from 50p to £1. Please can you confirm if your child will be having a school dinner or packed lunch on the ‘Transition Day Consent Form’ Google Form which can be found on the school website. Snacks
Your child is welcome to bring in their own morning snack or can also purchase a snack from the snack trolley during morning break. A selection of drinks are also available.
End of day
Pupils will finish school at 3.20pm and can be collected from the school gate or walk home on their own. Please indicate on the Google form how your child will be travelling home. Pupils from Sutton, Wrestlingworth, Caldecote, Northill and Dunton will be able to use the school bus on this day to travel to and from Edward Peake. The bus companies are aware of the additional pupils using the buses.

Pupil Premium
If your child is in receipt of Pupil Premium funding, we are able to
support the costs of uniform by providing a one use 50% voucher
code for Price and Buckland. To secure the discount, please contact the
school office. You will be issued with a discount code which can be used
when you order the uniform online through Price and Buckland.
